It is not often that you hear of high-profile luxury yachts running aground. But that is exactly how things panned out for the $40 million SeaFair. The 228-foot-long floating restaurant was in the are between Yorktown and Ravenel Bridge in South Carolina when the trouble took place. Luxury floating restaurant SeaFair is known to attract several A-list visitors, including Hollywood royalty. In fact, according to unconfirmed reports, actor Will Smith may have been on this piece of floating architecture at the time that the ship ran aground.
SeaFair, which was designed by yacht designer Luiz De Basto, is able to dock amid a draft of as little as six-and-a-half feet. This functional feature was brought in to ensure that the large luxury vessel could dock in cities far more easily. But apparently, the waters off South Carolina did not pass even the six-and-a-half feet test.
The floating restaurant that is SeaFair features four decks. Guests come on board through the first deck, which also houses a coffee bar and 10 separate exhibition spaces. On the second deck are 12 more exhibition areas and an open-air champagne and caviar lounge. The latter goes by the name of Luxe Lounge.
Moving on, the third deck offers six individual exhibition areas. The third deck is also home to a formal restaurant named Sapore. The glass walls ensure that guests get to indulge in great food and enjoy the view. Meanwhile, the sky deck is home to an informal open-air restaurant named Bistro360. There is also Bar360, the cocktail reception.
