Most of the people love their cars and like it to look its best. They add on accessories but some go a step further and redo the entire interior. You might not know very many people with designer car interiors but you will be surprised to see the upcoming exhibition of photographs by New York artist, Luis Gispert. He first came across a Cadillac Escalade with its interiors redone by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami like a Louis Vuitton bag. It was an eye opener for Gispert who started shooting this subculture and the results of his two years exercise will be exhibited at the Boone gallery under the title “Luis Gispert: Decepcion.â€
Luis Gispert has been an Ivy Leaguer artist. He is a pot graduate from the Yale University and works from his own studio in Brooklyn. Initially he displayed the films and sculpture he created. But it was his photography which was appreciated the most particularly in the fashion circles. It encouraged him to take up this project which turned out to be a two year journey clicking pictures of car interiors.
His assignment has created a huge portfolio of some stunning photographs of some of the most interesting and exciting car interiors. However, it is the photograph of the Burberry interior of a BMW that catches your attention immediately. The entire interior has been done in the signature black checks of the brand on an off white background. At the scheduled exhibition visitors can purchase photographs in a set of six at a substantial price of $25,000 for a set. Designer interior is definitely becoming a trend with luxury cars. Mercedes Benz had done it and  two recent examples are Range Rover Vogue designed by Victoria Beckham and Fiat 500 done by Gucci.
