Taru Tahiliani is a renowned fashion designer from India. In his elegant designs he has been able to combine traditional aesthetics with modern design. he has succeeded in infusing the Indian craftsmanship and textiles and tailored it in a European silhouette. The wedding season is very special for the Indian designers and Taru Tahiliani also does an annual bridal expo called the Couture Exposition. Every year he designs the exhibition based on a theme and crates a collection to match it. This year the theme is Jewel Box. The collection he has created this year for the occasion is studded extensively with Swarovski Elements.
Tahiliani believes that the Indian tradition of embellishment is the highest form of offering. The concept note highlighting the designs for this year’s expo is rather lyrically composed. It shows the designer’s understanding of an Indian wedding. And that’s perhaps why Tahiliani has lately even taken up event designing of Indian weddings for the super rich elite families. For him fashion designing is an art and he likes to consider himself as an artist. It is the artist in him that has designed a series of 35 lehengas for this year’s exhibition. The best thing about his designs is their contemporary sensibilities. This year he has made his collection in jewel tones.
Tarun does not allow his customers to compromise on accessories. He personally accessorizes his designs with some top brand jewelry. With his increased involvement with the Indian wedding one can expect more wedding paraphernalia this season. For this year’s exhibition Tahiliani is collaborating with Asahi India Glass to reinterpret the jewelry box to showcase his collection. Last year he had tried to bring the craft to the fore but this year he is focused on bling and it is coming from Forevermark Diamonds and JH Jewelers. Their displays will showcase diamond, ruby, emerald and polka collections. Johnnie Walker is also partnering Tahiliani for the couture exposition and you can expect Gold Label gift packs.
