Virgin Galactic to Create Space Suits Inspired by James Bond

Virgin Galactic, the space tourism venture of the British business tycoon, Sir Richard Branson is on track. The test of the jets and rockets is going on and if the tests don’t throw up any serious difficulty the first space tourists should be flying by early 2013. David MacKay, their first commercial pilot has also started training for the inaugural flight at the galactic spaceport. The company has also started working on the clothing that the guests would be wearing while flying in the spaceship.

According to reliable sources associated with the project, the clothing could be a replica of what James Bond wore in the 1979 movie Moonraker. After all, James Bond has inspired many new creations. You have James Bond inspired resorts and even Aquaminium. The original costumes James Bond and his CIA assistant, Holly Goodhead wear during their space journey in the movie are very stylish and elegant. The elite group of tourists flying into space will also be provided with similar space suites. They will have a high definition helmet which has a built-in microphone and headphone.

The helmet will have a connection from an oxygen tank and will feature interior lining of a soft fabric to ensure total comfort. The suit will be personalized and would obviously serve as a memorabilia for ones first trip outside earth’s atmosphere. There might be some modifications according to the norms set for the flight. You can rest assured that the costumes would be out of the ordinary. Do let us know in case you want something else replicated from the fictional franchise.
