Louise Harris loves her dogs. She doesn’t think twice before spending thousands on dog clothing. She gets designer outfits and bespoke jewelry for her six year old pet dog Lola. She has now gone a step further by organizing Britain’s most expensive dog wedding. She organized a lavish ceremony and invited 80 guests to watch Lola tie the knot with Mugly a Chinese Crested, who holds the title of the UKs ugliest dog after first winning the accolade in 2005.
Louise is the founder on Diva Dogs, in Essex, which is a dog boutique and grooming parlor. Short of being a pet hotel, her dog house provides all the amenities and services concerning pet health, pet costumes and dog apparels. For Louise, her dogs are her life and a constant source of joy. She credits Lola with completely transforming her life. Organizing a wedding for her on a grand scale was her way of saying thank you. Louise had originally planned a relatively small affair with about 30 guests but it kept getting bigger and she went along as she believes nothing is too much for Lola.
The Dog Wedding cost Louise a total of £20,150. She spent £400 on a professional wedding planner. She also spent an incredible £1000 on decorative flowers, £3000 on designers to decorate the marquee. Another £1200 was spent on pet clothes and dog clothing. Louise had run an online competition on her DivaDogs website and Facebook page to find the perfect husband for her princess Lola. Registrar Ann Clark carried out the ceremony before pronouncing Mugly and Lola dog and wife.
