AB Yacht of Italy to make Superyacht for $40 Million Capable of 48 Knots

The yachts have been becoming larger and more luxurious over time. Calling them yachts wasn’t doing them justice so they are now called superyacht. The space, the features and the amenities are all super about them so they qualify as superyachts. But it is human nature that when you have everything that you ever desired you think up of something else that you want. So now the superyacht owners want speed in their yacht.

Sting was recently spotted playing on the superyacht Mangusta. It is an awesome $50 million open yacht and is the world’s largest currently. It also has the honor of being one of the fastest in its category. AB Yachts of Italy, however are planning to produce a yacht which would be as big which would be less expensive but much faster. It is called AB 166 and it will be sold via global online luxury market place James List for about $40 million.

The 166 with its three MTU M93L engines will be able to hit a top speed of 48 knots. Apart from the 4,600 hp engines the 166 will have AB’s signature water jet propulsion system. The spacious yacht will have five luxurious en suite cabins for guests. The owner’s suite will have two balconies and exclusive access to a private pool area at the front of the yacht. There will be sufficient service accommodation and five cabins for the crew.
