The reality series Cake Boss is set at Carlo’s Bakery in New Jersey and the show tries to bring out the nuances of the bakery business by focusing on Buddy Valastro and his family who operate a baking business. Buddy and his crew baked the record breaking cake but the astounding price tag of $30 million was reached by using jewels and precious stones like emeralds, rubies, sapphires and of course some flawless diamonds. The most expensive cake was unveiled on the finale of the show to make it a fitting climax.
The sparkling cake was made to coincide with Devorah’s Diamond Gala. Devorah is originally from Venezuela and had relocated to the US in 1986. The New York Observer had listed her as one of the top 50 Media power bachelorettes for 2011. She is known to love parties and makes sure to be seen at all the high profile social events. Her most expensive cake is sure to increase her visibility at these events. She has created a record which will not be easy to break as the previous record was held by a $1.65 million cake from Japan and prior to that the record holder was the Black Swan a $315,000 cake from China.
