Vertical Platform A Necessity For Public Transportation

Public transportation has always been difficult for the differently-abled. In fact, many people opt not to use public transport just because it doesn’t give them the basic necessities.

Brazilian designer Danielo Adamo Andreos knows how important it is for everyone to get the opportunity to use public utilities. His design of the Vertical Platform, which was a winning entry at the IF Product Design Award 2008, is an easy and affordable solution. The Vertical Platform is a simple addition that can be made for subways, trains and even buses. It allows wheelchair users, and anyone else who find it quite impossible to climb steps, to be lifted up to the level of the vehicle. The platform can change from a flat surface to steps so that it can be used only be those who really need it.

Made from sustainable ABS plastic and galvanised steel, the best thing about the Vertical Platform is that it makes anyone who has a trouble with steps completely self-reliant and would do wonders for their confidence.
