Hong Kong Brings Up the Rear of Forbes Most Expensive Hotel Rooms

Forbes, under its most expensive series has released the Forbes World’s Most Expensive Hotel Rooms list of fourteen ultra high end properties. The usual suspects like New York, Paris and Rome are at the top of the list. But the surprise is Hong Kong at the end of the list on the 14th position. At $5,000 a night it suddenly looks like a bargain. The Peninsula’s 26th floor Peninsula Suite, which includes your own private butler and access to the Peninsula’s Rolls Royce comes at the rack rate of $5,000.

According to the Forbes list you will need an eye popping $25,000 for a single night in a suite at The Atlantis in The Bahamas. The Imperial Suite at the President Wilson Hotel in Geneva is equally expensive at $23,000 a night. Hong Kong generally had a reputation for having very high hotel rates but ultimately expensive is a relative term.

In fact if you look at the top ten luxury Hotels in Hong Kong you will realize that some fantastic rooms are available at reasonable tariffs. You will have to forgo the butler and the Rolls of The Peninsula but then you won’t have to pay $5,000 either.
