‘The Arts in Latin America’ flaunt at Los Angeles Museum of Art

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is the hot-venue to view the artistic creation at the exhibition of “The Arts in Latin America, 1492-1820.” The exhibition would host a matching display of 25 colonial objects on long-term loan from the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros. The exhibition would continue till 28 October. This is for the first time that a long-term loan to a US museum of Spanish colonial art from New York and Caracas-based colección has been made. The collection includes decorative arts, silverwork, carved ivories and paintings.

Featured above is a water heater with internal brazier, a silver, cast, repousse, and chased work, possibly from Lima, Peru. It measures 12 1/4 x 8 1/4 x 9 5/8 inches and its price information is not revealed. Other displayed painting is the 18th Century oil painting “The Virgin and Christ Child.”
