Sony’s Personal 3D Viewer Debuts In Harrods UK

This could well be the next big thing in personal entertainment. Sony has been talking about its new Personal 3D Viewer for a long time now. The so-called HMZ-T1 has made its rounds of presentations. Now ready for retail, the personal 3D viewer is having a limited run at Harrods before being made available at Sony stores across the United Kingdom. People have been waiting for this baby with baited breath ever since it began wowing reviewers with its extraordinary specifications. It is interesting that Sony is launching the personal 3D viewer in Harrods UK first. But that should build hype about this cool new gadget. Exclusivity is a big thing in the world of high-end gadgets. The limited run at Harrods should play to Sony’s advantage. The £800 price may be a little too high-end for most however.

The personal 3D viewer from Sony features dual OLED screens that offer extremely high resolutions of 1280×720 over a mere 0.7-inch space. As a result, the user has the impression of viewing a video in a 750-inch movie theater screen. The personal 3D viewer is among the first products to use this kind of technology. Adding to the movie theatre experience are the integrated virtual surround sound headphones. Moreover, the personal 3D viewer can be connected to your Sony Blu-Ray player as well as to your beloved PlayStation 3.

The personal 3D viewer became available at Harrods UK from 18 October. In time, Sony stores will also stock this cool gadget. Meanwhile, gadget lovers in the United States will have to wait a little longer. Sony will be taking their new 3D viewer to American shores in end-October.
