Monte Carlo Beach Club’s Saadiyat Resort To Attract 400 New Members By 2014

Last week, I wrote about the Monte Carlo Beach Club’s Arab conquest. The luxury beach club had opened its maiden property in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island earlier this year. The resort is still a relatively new entrant, but with big hopes. The Abu Dhabi resort estimates that it will draw 400 new members between now and 2014.

Given that the membership fees to this exclusive luxury property are currently a minimum of AED 35,000 ($9,528) per year, Monte Carlo Beach Club is looking to earn upwards of $14 million in membership fees alone. All this within the next three years. The general manager of this Saadiyat Island property is Patrick Nayrolles. He revealed that the beach club has seen a steady increase in the number of memberships since its opening. However, he would not reveal that actual number. While speaking to an Arabian newspaper, Nayrolles said that many parties have visited the place. He added that the heat earlier this year kept many people away. However, he expects that November (and the accompanying better weather) will offer a turnaround.

Saadiyat Island is being developed as a high-end destination. By the next decade, the region could well become one among Abu Dhabi’s most affluent places, successfully attracting the wealthy community. The fact that this 39,500-square-meter club also offers access to a beach, distinguishes it from other luxury resorts. The resort, which is operated by Societe des Bains de Mer (SBM), also offers monthly memberships and daily passes. These are priced at AED 4,500 per month and AED 400 per day respectively.
