Juliens Auctions is allowing Marilyn Monroe die-hards for an ‘inside’ look into her life. Yes, believe it or not but they are auctioning off a chest X-ray of the star. It was produced in November, 1954 at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Florida. Expected to fetch nothing less than $1,200, the X-ray sheet shows the curvaceous beauty posing such that her hands are on her lips.
Marilyn Monroe was diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition of the womb that gave her a lot of pain, and that is when the medical tests were conducted. Film footage tells that the actress was able to leave the hospital in two days of getting this X-ray examination.
Again, the X-ray carries Marilyn Monroe’s married name Di Maggio as that was when she was married to American baseball star Joe Di Maggio althought the couple had split was going through a divorce. One of the docs working at the hospital got hold of this X-ray and used to show it to his students during his lectures. It was eventually passed on to his daughter who is not offering it for sale.
