Luxury Travel Becomes More Exciting With Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades Collection

Luxury travel is Louis Vuitton’s original field. The French company had started off by making custom trunks and cases that could fit specific things of your choice. Over the years it has grown into a luxury and fashion conglomerate with a wide range of labels and brands in its portfolio. They have diversified with a Swiss Ski Resort and now also make luxury watch and fragrances. They have created the Island Maison Shopping concept to enhance the shopping experience. The French company is celebrating this spirit of adventure and travel by creating a special Objets Nomades collection. It is a collaborative effort and Louis Vuitton got the best talent from diverse fields to come on board to create this remarkable collection. Designers specializing in furniture, accessories and industrial products became part of the project to create pieces that are unique and really different from what you have seen before.

Big name designers like Urquiola and Christian Liagare contributed with original designs. Most of the pieces in the collection are foldable and easy to carry or transport. Maarten Baas has designed a beach chair for the collection. It is unique in its looks as it is shaped like a briefcase. Urquiola has designed stools that are shaped like Louis Vuitton Monogram flower pattern. The travel desk designed by Liagre is also foldable and has been crafted out of maple wood and leather. Atelier Oi created a hammock using LV leather and gold hardware. Clino Castelli has also used leather to create a two seater bench that folds into a neat little box.

The Collection is on Display At Louis Vuitton Store, Hong Kong

The list goes on and on. Fernando and Humberto Campana have also played with leather strips and created a hanging travel cabinet called Maracatu. It is a limited edition creation and only 12 pieces duly signed and numbered have been made. Thierry Gaugain, Constance Guisset and Perrine Desmon have also contributed with small accessories useful while traveling. Their handbag lamp, neck pillow, eye mask and bag hanger are also part of the collection. The collection was first showcased at Design Miami last December. It is again on display but at the Louis Vuitton store at Pacific Place mall in Hong Kong. If you don’t live there you can travel there and buy things that will make your return journey more exciting, comfortable and luxurious.
