Luxury travel requires a one to one meeting with customers to promote its exclusive products as the traditional modes of advertising do not suffice. International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) that took place in Cannes recently was a grand success as it facilitated almost 50,000 individual meetings. It served as a platform for over 1250 high end travel suppliers and over 1250 VIP buyers to come together and interact constructively. It was the 10th anniversary of ILTM and the occasion highlighted the fact that it has grown to become the only meeting point for the industry’s movers and shakers.
The participants were more than satisfied by the event. Mike Bonner, General Manager UK, Ireland & Middle East at Silversea Cruises believes that ILTM is the most well organized and relevant trade shows for the luxury travel industry. The first time participants were simply blown over by the high standard of the event. Riad Kneife of Riad Kneife Vintage and Design considers the event to be a rocket that helps you to reach the top of luxury.
Luxury travel is not simply about traveling to expensive cities. The new and unique services that were showcased at the event included Riad Kneife Vintage and Design Shopping services, personalized journeys through traditional and modern Japan, PT Exotic Yacht Charter Bali and its floating luxury hotel. Another highlight was the 5 Star Pikaia Lodge set to open in 2013 and perched on the plateau of an extinct volcano in the Galapagos Islands. Simon Mayle, Marketing Manager of ILTM believes that relationships play a very important role in the luxury travel industry and that’s why they try to bring together the leaders of the trade to create new relationships and rekindle old ones.
