Karl Lagerfeld Demonstrates Utility of iPad Application for Le Web

Karl Lagerfeld was seen at the launch of Le Web in Paris. Though it was all about technology but the show was not a dry affair with discussions about tech issues but a live demonstration and presentation by Karl Lagerfeld on how he uses iPad and related technology to enhance his work. Karl is a colossus in the fashion world and people look up to him and his work. He has an exceptionally large following and he can very easily trigger a trend and perhaps that’s what will happen after his demonstration for Le Web.

Luxury and fashion were a little averse to the new technology but slowly and surely it has creeped into the mainstream of the fashion world. It is the iPhone and the iPad and various applications built around them that have been responsible for this trend. New applications are being developed all the time that have the potential to completely change the way you work. The fashion world is also now approaching the new technology with growing maturity. Loic Le Meur of Le Web was conducting the exciting event.

There were minor technical hitches during the event but they did not come in the way of Lagerfeld demonstrating in detail how he creates many of his designs with the help of drawing applications available on the iPad. He even showed a sketch of Steve Jobs he had done using that program. However the big news that came out from the sidelines of the event was that Net-A-Porter will be working with Lagerfeld on a new online fashion brand called Karl. Natalie Massenet, founder and executive chairman of Net-A-Porter made the announcement that the site will launch on January 25. The brand will be the first to be exclusively available online.
