ILTM 2011 is all geared up for this year’s Cannes

This year’s Cannes festival will see elite luxury travel barons meeting up together to pool their ideas and also meet new suppliers to keep up with the trends in consumer spending. The changing dynamics in the world economy along with variations in tastes and preferences will be discussed over to help such travel specialists reframe their strategies. The event is International Luxury Travel and participation is only through receipt of invites. The marketing manager by the name Simon Mayle also conceded that the travel industry is currently a huge opportunity with new customers, hotels and luxury experiences from emerging markets.

With luxury travelers across the globe broadening their travel tastes, seeking new and authentic experiences, its important for the service providers to customize their offerings as well. The organizers are preparing to meet at the next week’s ILTM and will seek to create and maintain good relationships between agents, luxury travel suppliers and other partners in luxury travel niche. The invitation for the event have been send to famed brand names from over 70 countries across the world including Relais & Chateaux, The Dorchester Collection, Amanresorts, Orient Express Trains & Cruises and Four Seasons.

Besides the list of high-end travel supplier firms includes names like Cicada Lodge in Australia, Minaret Station in New Zealand (accessible only by helicopter) and Pikaia Lodge – a five star eco-lodge set in the crater of an extinct volcano in The Galapagos Islands.

The event holds a lot of importance for the who’s who of the luxury travel industry as this would be the place to interact with gems and make contacts at properties you’ve heard of but not familiar with.
