Polo is an elitist sport which has traditionally been associated with the royalty. It is an expensive sport and exclusive to the rich. With the number of the rich going up there are more people following the sport today and you see more precious memorabilia being created around major tournaments. Hublot Chukker Bang watch is the latest in the series which has been created as a tribute to the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad. Hublot is known for creating special edition timepieces for special occasions. The Chukker Bang is being released as a limited edition timepiece.
The concept of the Chukker Bang incorporates the action, precision and speed associated with the sport of polo. All these elements are evident in the shape and design of the timepiece. It has a very sporty look but at the same time elite as Titanium has been used generously. Only 500 pieces will be produced and each one of them will be individually numbered. The case of the watch which is 44mm wide has a titanium grilling. A polished sapphire crystal covers the bezel of the dial. About 50 rubies have been used inside in various components.
The strap of the watch is hand crafted and made out of beige colored calf skin leather. The watch will be available in two versions; pure titanium version and the titanium with diamond grille version. The automatic chronograph movement is timed according to a single period of play in Polo. The sporty watch is water resistant up to 100 meters of depth and will function smoothly even at that depth. Polo player Facundo Pieres has also given some design inputs and suggestion to the luxury watch maker. The Chukker Bang is no doubt a horological masterpiece.
