Edition is the latest luxury lifestyle hotel brand. The brand was launched with a property in Hawaii on Oahu, Waikiki EDITION, In October last year. It was very well received by discerning guests and it was evident that the brand will go far. It has taken its next step and will launch the Istanbul EDITION in April. They are confident their European debut will be as successful. This is going to be very different from their Hawaii property.
The hotel is situated in the city’s Levent neighborhood and has been designed to be an urban resort. The design influences of both East and West has been combined under the creative direction of Ian Schrager and high level service from Marriott. The Ottoman style is the first thing you encounter in a tall domed lobby. The touches of Byzantine architecture are visible on the walls, ceilings and floors which are lined with mosaic tiles. Bronze and gold leaf embellishment has been used liberally in public spaces.
You have traditional hanging lamps in the guest rooms. The bar has been modeled on the Turkish Tea Rooms and the spa offerings have strong influence of Hammam. The hotel is a tall building in its surrounding with thirteen floors. The guest rooms average size is 480 square feet. The penthouse occupies the entire top floor and is lavishly done. There is extensive use of Rosewood and Soaped Oak for ceilings and floors. Local silk has been used for the curtains and marble from the Turkish island of Marmora has been used in the bathrooms.
