Bottega Veneta Comes out With Its First Watch, BVX in Collaboration with Girard Perregaux

Bottega Veneta designs are best known for their great craftsmanship. I think their bags and shoes are to die for. The fashion brand has now teamed up with Swiss watch giant Girard Perregaux to come out with its first watch. Called the BVX, this is a unisex watch that features the fashion house’s signature woven leather pattern on its strap. The dial has a black, brushed titanium cover case while the face is brown. The strap is crocodile leather and is cigar coloured.

The face of the watch also has a 18-karat rose gold automatic movement made specially by Girard Perregaux for Bottega Veneta. Bottega Veneta believes in logo-free luxury, which is expressed by its motto: “When your own initials are enough” and has not put its initials on the face of this watch. Though I am a fan of Bottega Veneta, I have to say that I am a bit disappointed with the BVX.

Maybe I expect too much but the strap just isn’t working for me. Maybe it is the pic, but the strap looks very old and worn out, which I don’t like. The face is amazing for sure but the strap could have been better. Maybe it will look better when worn. The price is $14,600 and will be available December onwards.
