It takes a lot to build a brand and if you manage to build a resilient brand it can sail through its lows and bounce back to be among the world’s best. For example a mere antenna reception problem in the iphone4 will not really affect the Apple brand. This is a brand that has faced major setbacks before and bounced back every time to become the world’s most valuable brand. According to the Forbes magazine Apple heads the list of most valuable brands today with a net worth of $57.4 billion
The list released by Forbes is dominated by Tech brands. Microsoft was beaten with a small margin to the second place which has a net worth of $56.6 billion. Google, another big global brand has come in 5th with a net worth of $39.7 billion.
Apple has demonstrated time and again just how a brand can not only survive but thrive even when a parent company stumbles. In the 1990s for a four year stretch their sales plummeted by as much as 46% and the company lost money quarter after quarter and stocks hit a rock bottom of $4. The brand sustained itself over the rough patch and the company bounced back after Steve Jobs rejoining the company.
