Splits and separations are always painful and often messy. Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson announced their split four months ago and they are already turning their assets to liquid cash. The first to be put up for sale is the couple’s fifty-five-foot luxury cruise yacht Sketchy. They had bought the yacht barely 18 months ago and had been using it regularly. They had paid about £800,000 for it and might be willing to sell it for slightly less.
Charlotte told a Welsh radio station she would be ‘glad to get rid of it.’ The couple was regularly seen on their ‘dream’ yacht moored in Swansea Harbor. Henson, who has been pictured lounging on the yacht with friends, managed to attract some attention on the cruiser back in the summer. The rugby star turned Strictly Come Dancing competitor prompted a rescue alert after a cruise along the South coast in the super-yacht ended with a call to the coastguard and a lifeboat coming to his rescue.
The yacht was for a while the couple’s pride and joy, it is now up for sale just 18 months after they bought it. Charlotte and Gavin are worth an estimated £11 million , including their £1.2 million house in St Bride’s Major, Glamorgan, the yacht and a fleet of expensive cars.
