Britain has a long and rich history and it has many ultra luxurious mansions that keep hitting the market at mind boggling prices. The latest most expensive home for sale in Britain is the lavishly designed Heath Hall, situated on London’s most exclusive The Bishops Avenue which is popularly known as Billionaire Row. The comprehensively restored mansion has been put up for sale on the market for an asking price of $158 million. The very top end of the real estate market seems to be unaffected by the uncertainties of the economic environment. Even the brochure brought out by the listing agent costs $3,200.
Andreas Panayiotou Bought it in 2006 and Restored It
The Heath Hall was built originally way back in 1910 for the renowned sugar baron of the time William Park Lyle of the Tate & Lyle. The family sold off the property to the Bank of China in the 1950s which did not maintain the grand mansion and allowed it to fall into disrepair. The mansion is set on a 2.5 acre lot and is not easy to maintain. The property was purchased in 2006 by Andreas Panayiotou who is a serious player in the development business. His development company The Ability Group got down to renovating and restoring the 40,000 square feet of mansion and 2.5 acres of gardens.

The process was long and laborious and cost Andreas $63 million. The three story house not only regained its past glory but the interiors were outfitted with the most modern amenities and comforts. The Heath Hall is back to being one of London’s finest and most luxurious properties. A team of 120 tradesmen worked for long at transforming the property. 8,000 sq ft of additional space was created in the mansion. The bathrooms in the mansion now are the ultimate in luxury. 12 types of Italian marble and seven types of wood, all processed in Italy have been used in the bathrooms. The mansion now boasts of a library, a dedicated home cinema, a plush steam room with sauna facility, full fitted home gym and wine cellar. It is one of the largest homes in London and will attract stamp duty fees of $11.1 million.
