Brand Biedermeier appeals to all those who look for graceful classic lines in their furniture. The artists and designers here are dedicated to create simple yet elegant furniture units from wood that will definitely transform you home decor. They even pay extra attention to the fussy gilt-touched furnishings. And their new show called Vienna Biedermeier: The Art of Walnut is opening on October 1st at ILIAD in NYC.
This event is expected to showcase some of the most spectacular examples of Austria’s Walnut Masterworks that keep in tune with the traditional Biedermeier style. And you have ILIAD co-owners Adam Brown and Andrea Zemel vouch for that. We are also informed that Viennese furniture became big thanks to the walnut veneers that were used in the pattern of its wood to create original patterns.
So you can very well expect a furniture unit that is inspired by Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Bauhaus and is very modern minus the unnecessary ornamentation. There is a particular sofa that caught our fancy. It has walnut veneer and maple inlays and an ebonized detailing and a has a huge price of $50,000.
