Tokyo can proudly lay claim to several of world’s first. And the dining establishments of luxury brands such as Chanel, Gucci and Bulgari are the only ones of its kind in the world. It shows the sophistication of the Japanese consumer who lives, breathes and even eats designer labels. Tokyo’s fashionistas and boutique window shoppers can enjoy the ambiance and culinary creations that embody the essence of these hallowed brands.
Gucci Café is situated on the fourth floor of the world’s only Gucci building. To coincide with the launch of a Japan-exclusive jewelry collection on October 8 the café will combine food with fashion and a limited edition called Gucci 8 incorporating all eight Gucci logos that have been used in the past. The special menu is also in celebration of Gucci entering the 90s. Gucci turns 90 next year.
Chanel, the French fashion label has partnered with French chef Alain Ducasse to launch Beige, in December 2004, in its boutique in Tokyo. The dishes served there are simple yet elegant in keeping with the Chanel design philosophy. A three-course set lunch will cost about ¥5,000. The after meal chocolate formed in the shape of actual Chanel buttons and made freshly every day.
