The NttAudiolab’s Model 101 MkII speakers will blow your mind!

It doesn’t get any better than NttAudiolab’s Model 101 MkII speaker. Even if judging only by its specs, this model is surely an amazing piece of technology. Its 3-way Model 101 MkII boasts of two 15-inch woofers placed in the rear-ported base, with a two 6.5-inch Accuton ceramic on top, inverted-dome mid-range drivers wired into separate, enclosures on top as well as below a Fostex T500AMkII horn-loaded super-tweeter. What’s more is that the midrange and tweeter enclosures can be directed to the listening position to maximize imaging.

It’s specified frequency response ranges from 15.2Hz to 90kHz (±3dB), which is beyond the human ears range, in both directions. Quite interestingly, the speaker might show a small impedance of 8Ω, 4Ω, or 2Ω, which can be manually or automatically altered depending on the kind of amplifier. Any impedance can be utilized with a class A amp, but with a class AB amp, the sensitivity rises up to 115dB/W/m at 8Ω. The speaker will be able to work with an amp power of 10 to 1000W.

The speaker stands six feet tall and weighs 1315 pounds. It can be painted with any automotive paint colour of your choice. The speaker comes at a hefty price of $175,000 per pair.
