Luxottica has become a name to reckon with in the world of manufacture and distribution of luxury and sportswear. And now they have gone a step ahead by launching a world’s first retailing concept in Melbourne, Australia that will take their customers to the Future of Retailing. This first OPSM store is just the beginning of their concept of the future where consumers will be able to have a completely personalized shopping experience. The award winning architects at E2 have designed this revolutionary store. It aims to bring the customer at the helm.
The CEO of Luxottica Group, Andrea Guerra said, “We are confident that our first OPSM eye hub will be a huge success and lead to future openings in worldwide markets. With the features the new store concept has to offer consumers, quite simply it sets new standards for international retailing. Naturally, we also believe this will be the next step in eyewear retailing in particular and look forward to bringing this concept to consumers around the world.” Keeping with this idea, the group hopes to open new store is China, Europe, and the United States.
Chris Beer, Luxottica’s CEO for Australasia, South Africa & Greater China, said: “Typically retailers tell the customer what’s going to happen when they walk in the store. This first-of-its-kind concept relies on the customers dictating their own shopping experience, including telling a concierge meeting them at the door how they want to shop and what they want to spend time on. The best thing about this store is that it will be a unique experience for each customer.”
