Chicago entrepreneur and Miami real estate tycoon, John Melk had originally discovered this island during one of his yachting holidays in the Southern Bahamas. He bought it and initially intended it to be family retreat but soon realized its potential as an exclusive vacation island and invested a lot in transforming it into a luxurious private resort. It took a lot of time and money. 175 full time workers took six years under architect Howard Holtzman to create a truly authentic Caribbean design. The island is located 85 miles south east of Nassau.
The island is fairly easily accessible. Great Exuma is the nearest airport that has commercial flights from Miami, Chicago and New York. You can of course reach it by private jets as well. You can take a fifteen minute charter flight from there to Musha Cay’s private 2,200 feet runway. Musha Cay offers every conceivable luxury – from award-winning European chefs, an elegant fine dining room, indoor and outdoor beachfront bars, massage therapy, championship lighted tennis court, beachfront fitness center, freeform lagoon-style pool, satellite TV, billiard room and a state-of-the-art business center.
