Monster’s press conference at CES 2011 was a glitzy affair as expected but the lineup of products they announced seemed conservative compared to previous years. Noel Lee who heads Monster claimed during the press meet that they are now the leaders in the headphones category. Two of their Beats headphone models are in the three top selling luxury headphone pairs in 2010.
Amongst the new products unveiled during the press conference was a Miles Davis-branded earphone, the “Miles Davis Trumpet.” At a listed price of $349 they seem expensive but the pair comes packaged with a copy of the Davis record “Sketches of Spain”, on a Monster High Definition Surround Sound SuperDisc. The earphone features Monster Control Talk for iPhones and iPod built into the cable. The controls are designed to resemble pistons of a trumpet.
Monster utilized the opportunity to showcase some of the products they had released earlier in 2010 including Daft-Punk/Tron cross branded in-ear headphones priced at $349.95. iSport In-Ear Headphones are waterproof and sweat proof and comes with an in ear clip for an extra secure fit when exercising. Monster in an attempt to diversify announced a Monster Vision Max 3D glasses and transmitter kit. It uses ‘active’ technology and works with all brands of 3D televisions.
