If you happen to walk past the Selfridges store on Oxford Street, London, prepare for a dazzling experience. Two windows at the Selfridges outlet on Oxford Street have been decked up with Swarovski crystals for a truly glittering advertisement.
The window displays at Selfridges are promoting Aura by Swarovski, the new scent by the crystal giant created in association with the Clarins Fragrance Group. The perfume is set to launch soon, and the window displays by retail design agency Sheridan&Co have been designed to create pre-launch buzz for the perfume.
Sheridan&Co designed the window displays around the theme of ‘the luminescent fragrance’. And the design agency has done a fantastic job, for nothing spells out a luminescent fragrance better than Swarovski crystals. The designers created a specially commissioned crystal column that is three metres high. This crystal column was then decorated by thousands of Swarovski crystals. Adding further sparkle to the display is backlighting using LED stripes, which draws attention to the crystal column. In addition, the designers have used mirrors and vinyl strips on the window, to encourage the play of light.
While working on the brief, Sheridan&Co were given a few promotional graphics by Swarovski. The retail design agency used the graphics as a starting point for a window display that thrives on light and movement, which has been achieved using special lighting and ingredients.
In the meanwhile, there is considerable buzz over the sleek new bottles for the Swarovski Aura. Watch out for this launch. It’s sure to be a glittering affair.
