Style guru Tamara Mellon is UK’s Trade Emissary

Britain has a new trade envoy. It is none other than the Jimmy Choo queen Tamara Mellon. Her appointment has been done by David Cameron.

The reason behind this appointment is promoting Britain’s fashion industry overseas and who better to do it than Tamara Mellon and handbag designer Anya Hindmarch, former journalist, the brain behind the ‘I am not a plastic bag’ canvas shopping bag and a close friend of the prime minister’s wife, Samantha Cameron. The job profile of these two women as ambassadors is supposedly to be a part of foreign visits, meet foreign ministers and deliver speeches as trade envoys overseas. In a trio of ambassadors, the third one is JCB boss Sir Anthony Bamford, a Tory donor. None of them is known to be receiving any payment for playing the role of ambassadors. With a focus on bilateral trade, the prime-minister will be soon be visiting china with the largest ever delegation in history which includes these three ambassadors.

We love style, and since the prime minister is keeping it so stylish, we hope his achieves his goals.
