We have all seen the SpiderMan trilogy on the big screen and so far, there is always a sudden surge of adrenaline, the moment you see the wall crawler throwing the first punch towards the ‘Venom’. However, Spiderman has a lighter side to the entire saga as well, in the form of the highly anticipated musical of the series called, ‘Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark’, which is slated for a grand opening at the highly prestigious, Broadway, New York in the month of December this year.
The ‘Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark; musical had been facing some financial concerns lately, but now, as per the producers, the show is now in its final preparatory stages for its grand unveiling in December. The show was originally marked for a launch earlier this year and has been under production for a couple of years now. From November 14th, 2010, the Spiderman musical will begin its preview performances, before its first every public performance on December 21st. The Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark musical is termed as the most expensive show ever produced at Broadway, with the total production cost climbing up to an astounding $50 million. This all new musical has been inspired from the Spiderman series from Marvel Comics and will feature music from rock band, U2 frontman, Bono and The Edge.
The lead role of Peter Parker is being performed by actor and singer Reeve Carney, who made a name of himself with his appearance in the Hollywood blockbuster, ‘Snow Falling on Cedars’. Jennifer Damiano will be in role of Mary Jane Watson and Patrick Page will portray the role of the antagonist, Normon Osborn or The Green Goblin.
