Social Media is a Powerful Communication Tool if You Know How to Use it

Facebook and Twitter, within a relatively short span of time, have become such an important part of our everyday life and the way we communicate, that the social media in general has become a tool of communication with immense potential for the business and industry at large. Restaurant owners are the latest to realize how to use social media to drive customers to their table. A guy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin seems to have got the best results.

Joe Sorge, who runs a burger joint in Milwaukee, called AJ Bombers successfully managed to attract a flash mob of 161 Foursquare users to his restaurant. It was a great achievement as there are hardly three to four hundred Foursquare users in Milwaukee. They came to earn the highly coveted and elusive Foursquare “ Swarm Badge” – something you can only get when 50 or more Foursquare users check in at the same place at the same time. Joe went about the whole business very systematically.

Joe had noticed his fan base getting into Foursquare. He investigated the various badges that could be achieved and zeroed in on the elusive Swarm badge. He then connected with Foursquare who came on board with full support. He then sent a Twtvite from the good tweeps at TwApps. By the time the event was to start his restaurant was packed and within an hour Foursquare had communicated that they had earned the coveted badge.
