Prince William and his soon to be better half, Kate Middleton have said that they do not intend to employ any servants in their royal household. The London Telegraph reports that the couple has no issues about fetching tea for themselves. Infact they do their own shopping, cooking and even cleaning at the rented cottage that they occupy during weekends, and plan to continue the same way even after getting married.
They believe that having servants around would spoil the intimacy of their relationship. The only staffs they can’t do without are the bodyguards, and they don’t really have a say in that, after all he is the heir to the throne. A senior royal source said: “It’s very much their instinct to manage on their own. They want to do their duty and make sure they are a real asset to the country but they are private individuals who want to get on with their lives.”
For now its allright, but what happens when they move into Buckingham Palace? I mean his own father, Prince Charles employs an army of 150 retainers! Well I guess he wont need to add any more members to the staff. 150 seems like a good enough number.
