London is the most happening location on our planet at the moment and Karl Lagerfeld has become part of the action by launching a pop up shop at Selfridges London. Karl is considered the royalty of fashion and Selfridges was proud to provide a new dedicated space to his signature brand. Lagerfeld visited the store himself to celebrate the opening of his shop in shop. It was the 24th of July when the KARL Collection made its debut at Selfridges. The collection featuring the men’s and women’s autumn/winter 2012 boasts of some sleek, rock n’ roll pieces that are created around three words: ironiK, artistiK, accessible.
‘Team Karl’ is Sporting Themed Collection Â
It was an important day for Selfridges as Karl Lagerfeld Paris Man - a luxury ready-to-wear range was unveiled exclusively at the store. It is a new premium line that reflects the strong style and personality of the modern man. This is the strength of Karl Lagerfeld and Selfridges had the honor of retailing it exclusively. It is a very contemporary collection and every piece in the collection is an example of innovative design and tailoring with an elegant twist. There is another sporting-themed collection of womenswear and accessories named Team Karl that has its own pop-up shop on the third floor of the store. It features limited edition t-shirts which have been made in collaboration with London design agency I Love Dust. All the Karl collections have been highlighted through dedicated Karl Lagerfeld windows at the front of the main entrance.
Karl Lagerfeld Visited the Store to Celebrate
All this calls for a party and Karl Lagerfeld personally joined the management and the staff of the store for a star studded cocktail party on the roof. He admired the dedicated windows for his collections at the entrance and then went through the store to the third floor to see the pop-up shop for his signature brand. He then went up to the roof and the party came alive. Daphne Guinness, Rosario Dawson, Jefferson Hack, Labrinth and Poppy Delevigne were amongst the prominent guests who attended the party.
