Red Tibetan Mastiff – The World’s Most Expensive Dog

We are talking about the Red Tibetan Mastiff, now considered to be the world’s most expensive dog after it was recently sold in China for a whopping $1,512,932. What makes the dog called, Big Splash so special is the fact it is one of the most ancient breeds of dogs in China and the Red Tibetan Mastiff is said to be the direct descendant of animals kept by nomadic Chinese tribes.

As per the Chinese traditions, the Red Tibetan Mastiffs are said to bring health and security to their owners and are considered to be very lucky. Big Splash is just 11 months old and according to his breeder, the owner of this most expensive pet dog could charge as much as $16,011 to have it breed with a female.

The Red Tibetan Mastiff is known have a royal history, with its previous owners being Queen Victoria, King George IV and  Genghis Khan. With such a glorious history and a spiritual spin to its existence, Big Splash, is indeed in for some real royale treatment from his owner.
