Famous Bang & Olufsen soundmakers have announced the launch of their new digital music system, the BeoSound 5. The aim is to bring B&O’s high-end hifi systems closer to the concept of storing music digitlly.
The main interface comprises of a 2.65 kg table-top that is dominated by a 10.4-inch 1024×768 LCD and an aluminum scroll wheel. A 500 GB music server with internet connections powers this ultra-cool music system. And the entire system is run as per B&O’s new intelligent playlist system called MOTS (More Of The Same).
MOTS is believed to track rhythm, vocal sounds and even creates automatic playlists that evolve as the user chooses music and adds to the list. Plus music is stored in lossless formats in a 500 GB space.
The complete pack includes the sound system (of course) along with the controller and server. It will be available in the market from March 2009 and is expected to be priced around $5,377.
