At $2,600 Cdn you get a sailing experience, wildlife viewing, cultural exchanges with first nations, fishing and the perennial highlight of listening to whales through on-board stereo via hydrophone. For their deluxe trip the bill goes up to $6000. But it seems to be worth every penny as half of their passengers are referrals from previous travelers who must have had an enjoyable experience.
The highlight of this trip is the scenery, as the Maple Leaf skims by snow capped mountains, enormous trees and picturesque beaches. You also get to see whales, wolves and bears in their natural habitats. Smith calls it “low-impact tourism,” giving people an alternative holiday experience that is also eco-friendly.
