Luxury Hotels are Increasingly Creating Exclusive Luxury Services Aimed at Children

The luxury hotels are catching a new trend or are subconsciously creating something very big. The hotels have caught on to a shift in attitude in the society. Till some time back toddlers and babies were kept away from designers and fashion but today if you move around the Capitals of Europe you will see toddlers dressed head-to-toe in designer labels. This change in attitude has encouraged the hotels to create classy and luxury services for the children. What was considered extravagant yesterday is considered exciting today. In Germany Ritz Carlton, Berlin was the first to introduce a VIK, Very Important Kids program.

It has services aimed at satisfying the needs of child guests in the hotel. The hotel has reintroduced the program earlier this year with a wider range of activities. They have positioned as the ‘ultimate luxury hotel experience for children’. Miniature Mercedes Benz vehicles have been created especially for the children to whizz around the lobby. Child friendly china and petite gold furniture have been introduced to offer the children a sense of luxury. Brown’s Hotel in London has introduced treatments in the spa like ‘twinkle toes’ and ‘teen glow’ which have been created especially for the children.

Plaza Athenee in Paris has gone over the top in wooing the children. They have redecorated entire rooms to please the children. They have created Barbie-themed rooms for the girls and gadget-filled Hot Wheels rooms for boys. An adult room connecting with these private children’s suites will cost you €1,700. The hotel justifies the price by claiming it to be the ‘pinnacle of luxury’. Increasing number of hotels have introduced the service of ‘baby butler’. If you are traveling with your baby and need someone to warm the milk, change the diapers or rock the crib you may request for the services of a personal assistant assigned purely to childcare. With strong growth in luxury travel and family travel this trend of exclusive services for children will also grow.
