London’s elite St. James Hotel and Club put up on the market for £60 million

London’s elite hotels are seeing a new trend these days. The trend is that most of them are being sold! Another hotel to join that list is the famous St. James Hotel and Club, which opened in 1980.  This hotel has seen several renowned guests including Michael Caine, Liza Minnelli, Lord Attenborough and Dudley Moore. According to London Times, the hotel has been listed for £60 million, by the owners, the Landesberg and Rosenberg families, who had been in possession of the hotel for the past five years. There is a possibility that the property might be bought by Britannia Hospitality, which recently acquired the nearby Stafford Hotel.

The property had been bought then for a price of around £20 million, which was followed by further investment on renovation. The result was quite spectacular and included a fine dining restaurant called Seven Park Place. This hotel is currently a part of the Althoff group of hotels.

St. James is truly exquisite. All its rooms have handmade silk wallpapers, beautiful black lacquered furniture, and specially handcrafted Murano glimmering glass chandeliers. The bathroom is fitted with polished stones and chrome glass. For ultimate comfort, the bedding is handmade from Hypnos.
