Bachelor parties have evolved over the years. It used to be rather simple and predictable. The friends of the groom got together in a pub or night club and got wasted. I guess the bachelorette parties also followed a pretty similar predictable line. I think the difference was limited to the anatomy of the performers and the guests.
All this is changing rapidly. The tourism and travel industry , in an attempt to climb out of the economic hole after a two year recession, has made it in to a specific segment and are creating interesting packages to suit different tastes and budgets. The whole thing is becoming rather long, intricate and costly. Las Vegas , for obvious reasons, is the top destination followed closely by Florida. The average price per person for such trips has reached a significant  $1,250 per person.
Some soon-to-be spouses are even combining their trips and hitting the same destination at the same time with their groups of friends and then split to enjoy different activities. Pre-marital partying has come a long way and it has given the travel industry a new opportunity to draw some more cash in the coffers and get back on track. Some of us who love tradition, particularly in affairs like marriage, might not agree with theses changes but then that is life.
