Jean Paul Gaultier, considered the enfant terrible of French fashion, is launching a new fragrance this month. Like his other creations the fragrance is also positioned as exciting and is backed by appropriate marketing effort that is equally exciting. The fragrance called Kokorico is being promoted by an ad campaign starring Jon Kortajarena. It has been filmed by Jean Baptiste Mondino in a sensuous style. The sensuality is further enhanced by the iconic voice of Spanish actress Rossy De Palma. The launch campaign surely does justice to the style of Jean Paul Gaultier. You now have several examples of high fashion getting into fragrances like Karl Lagerfeld perfume, Bulgaris new scent and Heidi klum signature fragrance.
Gaultier was the creative director of Hermès from 2003 to 2010. He also understands television and its power well as in the past he has the television series Eurotrash. He has got the best in the medium to present his new fragrance. His vision for the fragrance was very clear. At the very discussion stage, he had made it very clear to Olivier Cresp and Annick Menardo that through the fragrance he wants to interpret a ‘cry’- the cry of a cock, the war-cry of a warrior, a cry of pleasure from a satisfied man. He has managed to bring all that to Kokorico or Cocorico which is cock-a-doodle-doo in French.
The new creation by Gaultier is a woody cocoa fragrance featuring notes of fig leaves, raw cacao bean and wood. He has very successfully managed to incorporate a sense of eroticism in the fragrance. It is nothing short of torrid and could be called an aphrodisiac fragrance. And to project all this Jon Kortajarena is seen shaking his sexy body in the ad campaign. He is ideally suited to promote the fragrance as no one else can project the sense of the fragrance better than him.
