Johnnie Walker Blue Label And Porsche Design Launch The Private Bar

As holiday shopping approaches fever pitch, Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Porsche Design Studio have released a collection of luxury gifts for men. If you are seeking a stunning gift idea, instead of the usual cufflinks, you might want to take a look at the private bar and other items being offered. The four-piece collection has been making the rounds of airports around the world and has finally reached the Los Angeles International Airport. The luxury gifts for men are being showcased at the DFS landside store at the LA airport’s Tom Bradley International Terminal.

Star Attraction: The Private Bar

The key attraction it the collection put forward by Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Porsche Design Studio is the super-sleek private bar. Measuring over 2 meters in height, the stunning private bar is designed by Porsche Design and holds fine spirits from Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The brushed stainless steel exterior combines with the textures of Australian lace wood and shagreen leather.

The bar opens using motion sensors to reveal the expensive spirits as well as four crystal glasses. Four more crystal glasses sit within a hidden chilled compartment that also houses a crystal ice bucket, stainless steel tongs and a crystal jug of iced water. The stunning Private Bar is priced at £100,000 (about $156,000).

The Other Gifts In The Collection

The three other products from Johnnie Walker Blue Label in conjunction with Porsche Design Studio are the Cube, the Mini Cube and the Chiller.

The Cube is made in a similar way to the Private Bar, using similar materials like brushed stainless steel and natural shagreen leather. This luxury mini-bar includes an ice chiller, stainless steel tongs and four branded crystal glasses. The highlight is an individually numbered bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

Next up is the Mini Cube. This little portable bar is made for people on the move who cannot do without their fine spirits. The compact monogrammed box includes an ice chiller, stainless steel tongs, a pair of bespoke Blue Label crystal glasses and a bottle of Blue Label. The Mini Cube is designed solely for travel retail.

Adding to this list of luxury gifts for men is the Chiller. This essentially holds a single bottle of the ultra-premium Scotch. The design of the Chiller mimics that of the label itself.

A High End Collaboration

Steve White, the Diageo Global Travel & Middle East Marketing Director, said that the collection is the result of “a shared vision between two iconic, luxury brands”. He added specifically that the Private Bar is drawing a lot of attention among shoppers. It obviously helps that the Private Bar’s sleek, slim structure ensures that it occupies very little space and becomes something of a statement piece in a contemporary home.

Meanwhile, DFS’s Director of Merchandise Steve Brooke Supernaw revealed that they were “honored” to have been chosen as the sole North American operator to showcase the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Private Bar. Supernaw also described the bar as an “exceptional product” and revealed, “we have had an extremely positive reaction from customers.”
