Buenos Aires, Argentina played host to a charity polo match sponsored by Jaeger-LeCoultre, manufacturer of time-piece of excellence since 1833. They have an eighty year old association with polo. British polo players in the Indian Army requested a watch that would be durable yet remain sophisticated and elegant. In 1931 as an answer to their request they created the Reverso collection, known widely now as the only true polo watches in the world, worn by polo’s elite and royalty alike.
The polo match in Buenos Aires was organized to support the schools of lower income children. Money was donated for each goal scored during the match. And these goals were scored by some of the biggest names in the game including Clare Milford Haven, Eduardo Novillo Astrada, Alejandro, Lia Salvo, Gabriel Iglesias, Juan Carlos Harriet, and Will Johnston. The spectators enjoyed a fast paced game of the highest level.
The horses were the most impressive. They worked in perfect harmony with their masters. Eduardo Novillo Astrada emphasized that horse is the most incredible animal and polo ponies are capable doing anything. The match ended with Jérome Lambert, CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre announcing the winner of the match and donating $10,000 to the Christian Family Polo Movement.
