Herald Tribune To Launch Luxury Online Store

The Christmas season could become a spur for the launch of new luxury online stores. One case in point is the upcoming IHTGiftStore. A collaboration between The Herald Tribune (the international edition of The New York Times) and Couturelab (an e-commerce luxury gift site), the soon to launch IHTGiftStore will sell a host of bespoke gifts and other products. The items will be specially curated by Couturelab from designers, brands, artists and specialist artisans from around the world. Couturelab has been doing this for a while now on its own website, so the Herald Tribune’s online gift store will be in safe hands.

The luxury online store will offer a range of holiday gifts, so your future Christmas gifts could very well be sourced from here. There will be products for men and women. Everything from artisan jewelry to travel accessories to home décor will be on sale. Why did the International Herald Tribune team up with Couturelab? According to the broadsheet’s publisher Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, Couturelab’s “focus on quality, heritage and craftsmanship” made it a perfect fit for IHT. For those who did not know, Couturelab was founded by Carmen Busquets, a Net-a-Porter investor. For Brusquets, it is all about lending support to the best creative talents by encouraging customers to purchase products that impart value and tell a story.

Brusquets revealed that Couturelab will be focused on encouraging customers to purchase goods that sustain artisans and cultures around the world. She feels that the global lifestyles of IHT’s readers make them the perfect audience for Couturelab, and hence for a property like the IHTGiftStore.
