True Blood, the HBO series is becoming more popular with every passing week. This is not just another vampire focused series on television but it’s a really good show with enormous high end fashion potential. We are not the only one who noticed this potential but the marketing honchos at HBO were up to it and have as a matter of fact teamed up with a Los Angeles based handbag company, Hammitt to cash in on some of that potential.
Hammitt has released a line of handbags inspired by the shows different characters. If you see the collection in terms of pricing, it starts with Sookie. As per reports it is made of pleated dive gray suede and has been priced at $395. The bag inspired by Lafayette is more flamboyant. It is a metallic leather doctor bag stamped with an alligator skin pattern and covered in studs. It makes up the top of the price pyramid at $675. Bill possibly did not inspire a handbag design as there is no mention of a Bill bag.
Eric and Alcide bags are part of the True Blood collection. In fact the Eric bag which is priced at $445 is the most wearable bag in the entire collection. It is a black leather bag with a shoulder strap and bullet shaped studs. Perhaps they signify the bullets Eric has taken for Sookie. The Alcide bag comes closest to the character in the series. The gray shoulder bag has fake fur flap and a life-size, screen-printed wolf image on the inside lining. Hammitt is generally stocked by smaller boutiques but if the HBO marketing geniuses create an alternative channel for their exclusive collection, we will keep you informed.
