The annual Hainan Rendez Vous is growing in size and scope and its third edition held between April 5 and 8 saw the largest gathering of millionaires and billionaires. Super yachts, jets and ultra lifestyle brands were all there to entice prospective customers and the four day event was successful in generating billions of RMB in business. The Riviera like shores of Sanya City attracted China’s financial elite in thousands and left sponsors, exhibitors and visitors happy and satisfied.
Hainan Rendez Vous 2012, a Grand Success
There were dozens of luxury yacht makers from all over the world participating in the event. Eight leading makers of jet and several ultra-upscale brands of real estate, supercars, haute joaillerie, watches and numerous other product categories were participating to showcase their products and services. Twenty five yachts were sold during the event and many more negotiations are still on. Dassault Falcon sold one 7x during the show and has planned a follow up program for potential buyers. They are confident of closing several deals in the coming weeks. The Hainan Rendez Vous has proved to be an ideal platform for networking through its gala dinners, parties and other social activities.
Bigger & Better
The 2012 edition of Hainan Rendez Vous had 208 exhibiting companies participating and they pulled out all stops to create an ultra lifestyle experience for the visitors. The boats on display this year were larger and more in number. It was easily the largest yacht show in Asia. There were many vessels over 30 meters namely Lohengrin, Helix, Northern Sun, Star and many more. The automotive section of the event also witnessed hectic activity with big names like Bugatti, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce and AMG participating. The visitors who are the financial and social elite of China also now look forward to the event as it gives them an opportunity to network with peers from across the country during the gala dinners and parties held during the event. The organizers of the event along with Pernod Ricard and Chopard hosted three grand gala dinners. Pernod Ricard had erected a double storied VIP lounge by the water for their Elite Club members.
The Biggest Luxury Show in China    Â
Miss Universe China, Luo Zilin, cosmetics entrepreneur and media personality Yue Sai-kan, and four-time America’s Cup winner Russell Coutts and Zhou Huimin were among the celebrities who attended this year’s Hainan Rendez Vous. The participating companies were all very happy about the quality of people who visited the event. Mike Simpson of Simpson Marine dubbed it the best boat show in Asia. Dassault Falcon is a regular participant in the event and its CEO Jean Rosanvallon was impressed by this edition. Bombardier called it a key event for the growth of business aviation in China. The Ferretti Group Asia Pacific Manager called HRV the most important event in Asia. Chopard is the Official Partner of the event since its inception and Mrs. Caroline Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard was delighted to visit the event that assembles top luxury products from different categories. Delphine Lignieres, founder of the Hainan Rendez-Vous were delighted and proud about the outstanding success of the 2012 edition of the event.
