Goring Hotel, the 100 year old London hotel, patronized by the rich and the famous, has refurbished its suite for Kate Middleton to spend her last night as a commoner before her Royal Wedding. Kate with her mother and sister has moved into the £5,000-a-night Royal Apartment on the top floor of the Goring Hotel in Belgravia. The hotel has given the suite of rooms a £150,000 makeover to give the bride to be the taste of the royal luxury that will become hers from tomorrow. The entire suite had been filled with 20 bouquets of flowers before Kate and party arrived for the night. Everyone in Britain seems to be doing their bit for the Royal Wedding. I think we already told you about Colin Bleasdale wo is making the most expensive ice cream for the occasion.
Jenny Tobin Flowers supplied the exotic flowers like white and red freesias, Eucharist lilies and roses. The same establishment had supplied the flowers for the film Love Actually. After refurnishing the suite is packed with antique, handmade furniture. The master bedroom has a dark wood four poster bed with a television which rises from the end of it at the touch of a button. The bathrooms have been redone for creating a vast walk in shower that boasts of an oil painting behind a glass screen. The walls in the suite has been covered in Gainsborough silk costing £500 per square meter.
The Middleton family has booked the entire hotel with 71 rooms for the occasion. The family and their friends would be staying there and hold a reception of their own for the guests who could not be accommodated on the guest list at the Westminster Abbey or the Buckingham Palace reception in the honor of the newlyweds. The hotel has truly geared itself up for the occasion and Jeremy Goring who is the great grandson of the founder of the hotel said that he was happy and honored to be a part of the momentous occasion.
