Automobiles have been a regular source of inspiration for the designers in the field of horology. Automotive-themed timepieces have been well received generally by the people. We love our cars as well as our watches and timepieces. So it makes sense for a designer to combine the two. The resultant designs have generally been well appreciated and have been a hit with the people.
We have reported , earlier in detail, about the Bugatti Galibier GT concept watch designed by the French designer Fabien Cacheux. If you can recall, it featured a tachometer that indicates the hours. Fabien Cacheux’s latest design is based on the Silver Arrow concept. The designer has drawn inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS. The concept incorporates a whirl, a power reserve and a tachometer with star shaped needle reflecting the emblem of the brand. There is more in the watch that reminds you of Mercedes. The case is mounted on a machined titanium neoprene bracelet that opens and closes like the butterfly doors of the Mercedes.
There is more to the new design by Fabien Cacheux than the Mercedes inspired similarities. The two buttons indicating Open and Close surrounding the ring opens and closes the car remotely much like the Aston Martin AMVOX2 DBS Transponder watch. The response to this new design has been great as expected.

I like the idea of a watch being more like a bracelet.
