The world’s largest airline company, Delta Airlines, is all set to revamp its fleet of fleet of Boeing 747s next year to deliver the next level comfort to its passengers. These new flights will be equipped with more flat-bed seats which will be equipped with a host of other features like power outlets, USB ports for iPods and other devices, personal reading lamps and video monitors.
Beginning next summer, the airline company will remove 17 seats from its BusinessElite cabin to make room for a new configuration on all 16 of its 747 planes, which handle the traffic to and from Tokyo. These planes would in all have 48 fully reclining BusinessElite seats and 338 economy-class seats.
The window seats in the business cabin will be facing the windows thereby delivering more privacy to their business-class passengers. On the other hand, the centre seats will be angled towards each other for families and friends travelling together. The new seats will not result into any price hike of a business class ticket.
Their enhanced set of services isn’t limited to the elite business class alone. Economy-class seats will also see some improvements through addition of personal nine-inch touch-screen television sets and USB ports. There would also be more personal space and under-the-seat storage for the passengers.
